Widget, sharing, Siri, and notifications

Linknor also works outside the app: with a widget on the Home Screen, through the Share menu of other apps, with notifications, and together with Callnor and Weeknor.

Widget #

The “Linknor” widget brings tasks, topic trends, birthdays, and follow-ups to the Home Screen. Add it through the Home Screen's edit mode and choose “Linknor”. It comes in three sizes.

Tapping the widget opens Linknor. The widget updates every hour and whenever your data changes.

  • Small: three open tasks with a priority dot. Without tasks, it shows topic trends.
  • Medium: three tasks or three topic trends.
  • Large: sections for tasks, topic trends, network gaps, birthdays in the next 30 days, and follow-ups in the next 14 days.
NoteBirthdays appear only with access to your contacts. If there is nothing to show, the widget says “No data available”.

From other apps, you send text, web links, images, and files to Linknor. In the sheet, Linknor preselects a category that you can change: “Social”, “Web”, “Email”, “Docs”, “Screenshot”, or “Other”.

Optionally, you assign the item to a contact and an organization right away. Without an assignment, it goes to the Inbox. The next time you open Home or the Inbox, Linknor takes over the item, loads the title and preview from the internet for links, and analyzes it. Until then, the “More” tab shows a number.

How it works

  1. In another app, tap Share and choose “Linknor”.
  2. Check the category.
  3. If needed, tap “Choose contact…” or “Choose organization…”.
  4. Tap “Save”.
NoteContacts and organizations are available for selection only after you have opened Linknor once.
TipShare images and files one at a time. That way, each one arrives in Linknor as a separate item.

Siri and Shortcuts #

Linknor comes with one app shortcut: “Call”. You start it in the Shortcuts app or via Siri, for example with “Open contacts in Linknor”. Other phrases are “Open Linknor Phone” and “Start call with Linknor”.

The shortcut opens Linknor on the “Contacts” tab. There, you start the call for a contact with “Call”; the call runs through Callnor.

NoteLinknor doesn't offer any other shortcuts or Siri actions.

Notifications #

Linknor reminds you of occasions and contacts with notifications. For this, you need permission for notifications, which you grant during onboarding or in the iOS settings. Linknor schedules the notifications once a day when you open the “Home” tab.

  • “Birthday today!” on the morning of the birthday. “Congratulate” opens the congratulations sheet.
  • “Anniversary coming up” seven days before an anniversary.
  • “Follow-up” on the due date at 9 a.m.
  • “Contact break” when you haven't been in touch with someone for a while, and “Contact gone dormant” when the interaction score is very low.
  • “Weekly network report” on Mondays and “Network maintenance” on Sundays for relationships you haven't confirmed in a long time.
  • “Link suggestion” and “New topic recommendation” for new matches from your content.
  • Reminders for tasks, gifts, conversation prep, and maintenance requests. For a gift, you choose “Purchased ✓” or “Remind tomorrow” directly.
  • “Conversation ended” after a detected phone call, with “Log” and “Later”.
NoteYou turn on birthday reminders during onboarding. You control the contact break under More › Settings › Notifications with “Contact Break Reminder” and “Default Interval”. Notifications about phone calls require “Detect calls automatically” in “My profile”.

Callnor and Weeknor #

Callnor is a separate app for calls. When you tap “Call” for a contact in Linknor, Linknor hands the call over to Callnor. Callnor reports completed calls back, and Linknor saves them as phone calls with the contact. For this, Linknor provides Callnor only with names and the link to the address book, no phone numbers.

If Callnor isn't installed, “Call with Callnor” appears. “Get Callnor” opens the App Store, and “Call with Phone” starts the call in the Phone app. With “Don't Ask Again”, Linknor remembers your choice.

Weeknor is another app with which Linknor exchanges appointments. Linknor takes over encounters, organizations, attendance, and documents from there as soon as you open the “Home” tab or edit an encounter. In return, Linknor provides Weeknor with your contacts and organizations.

  • More › Settings › Connections & defaults › “Callnor” shows under “Connection” whether Callnor is installed, and under “Exchange” the status of the sync.
  • “Sync Now” fetches new calls immediately.
  • “Ask Again” resets a remembered choice.
