Gifts

The gift coach asks you in good time before milestone birthdays, mandate anniversaries and personal occasions whether you want to get a gift. This way you plan gifts weeks in advance and keep track of what you have given to whom.

Gifts & decisions #

Under More › Gifts & decisions you open the gift coach overview. It is organized into three sections:

How it works

  1. Use the search field to search for a name or a gift idea.
  2. Swipe an entry to the side to mark it as “Purchased” or to delete it.
  3. Use “…” › “Clean up duplicates” to remove duplicate entries.
  • “Upcoming decisions”: occasions you have not decided on yet. Tap an entry to decide.
  • “Planned”: gifts you want to get. Tap one to open the gift details with idea, budget, cost, shop link, photo and reminder.
  • “Bought & given”: completed gifts.
NoteThe overview only fills up when the gift coach is active and occasions are coming up.
TipYou also see the most important decisions on Home in the “Gift coach” card.

Make a decision #

For each occasion, the gift coach asks: “What would you like to do?” You open the decision from the overview, via the card on Home, or with the “Gift” swipe action under Honors & anniversaries. At the top you see the person, the occasion and the date.

How it works

  1. Choose one of the three options.
  2. If needed, enter a gift idea and budget.
  3. Under “Planned handover”, set whether you hand it over on the day of the occasion or on another date.
  4. Under “When to remind?”, choose when you want to be reminded.
  5. Tap “Save”.
  • “Buy gift”: you plan a gift. Linknor reminds you and later asks whether you have bought it.
  • “Already have one”: the gift has already been bought or prepared.
  • “Do nothing”: you deliberately skip a gift this time.
TipUnder “Inspiration”, Linknor shows the person’s interests and past encounters as ideas.

Set up the gift coach #

Under More › Gift coach you set whether and when the coach asks. Use “Enable gift coach” to turn it on or off.

  • “For which occasions?”: milestone birthdays, mandate anniversaries and personal occasions can each be turned on or off.
  • “How early to ask?”: choose 1, 2, 4 or 8 weeks of lead time. This is how early the question appears on Home and in the anniversaries list.
  • “People with a custom rule”: here you see everyone with a different setting and can change it.
NoteWhich birthdays count as milestones is set under More › Settings › Milestone birthdays.
TipYou set a custom rule for a person in the contact profile under Context profile › “Gift coach”: “Default”, “Every year on the birthday”, “Every year, all occasions” or “Never”.

Gifts given #

Under More › Gifts Given you find all gifts you have marked as given. Each entry shows the recipient, the date and, if recorded, the cost. Below that is the sum “Total Recorded Costs”.

You mark a gift in the gift details with the “Given” switch. It then appears in the contact profile in the “Received Gifts” card.

  • Press and hold an entry and choose “Open contact” or “Details”.
  • In the details you add a photo, cost and notes.
NoteAs long as nothing has been given, this shows “No Gifts Given Yet”.
TipThis way you see before the next occasion what the person has already received from you.
