Birthdays and anniversaries
Linknor reminds you of your contacts' birthdays, milestone anniversaries, and personal occasions. You send congratulations with a prepared message and keep track of mandate anniversaries in organizations.
Birthday list #
You open the birthday list on Home via the birthday row with the cake icon and the photos. It shows the birthdays of all linked contacts, grouped by month and starting with the current month.
At the very top is “Recently passed” with the birthdays of the last 30 days. There, you can send belated congratulations.
- Each row shows the date, the age reached, such as “turns 51”, and the time until then, such as “Tomorrow” or “In 6 days”.
- If you have already congratulated someone, the row carries the “Already congratulated” badge.
- On the birthday itself and for past entries, a send button for congratulating appears on the right.
- Tap a row to open the contact profile.
Congratulate #
Tap the send button in the birthday list, “Congratulate” in the profile on the birthday, or “Congratulate” in the “Birthday today!” notification. The “Congratulate” sheet opens; after the birthday, it is called “Send belated wishes”.
Under “Channel”, the recommended way is preselected. Via “Show all channels”, you choose email, SMS / iMessage, WhatsApp, or Telegram. Under “Message”, there is a greeting that matches the salutation and gender. You can change it or dictate it.
“Open message” opens the selected app with the text. You send it from there yourself. Linknor logs the greeting under Communication and marks the contact as congratulated.
- Use the gear icon in the birthday list to open “Birthday messages”.
- “Push notifications” remind you on the birthday.
- “Birthday greetings” send you a reminder with a prepared message at the time set under “Remind at”.
- Under “Edit templates”, you adjust the four greeting texts: messenger and email, each for informal and formal salutation. The available variables are listed below.
Honors & anniversaries #
Under More › Honors & anniversaries, you see what is coming up in the next twelve months: milestone birthdays, mandate anniversaries in organizations, and personal occasions such as wedding anniversaries. The entries are grouped into “This week”, “This month”, “Next 3 months”, and “Later this year”.
Use the bar at the top to filter by “All”, “Round”, “Mandates”, or “Occasions”. Each row shows the occasion, role or organization, and the distance in days.
- Tap an entry to open the contact profile.
- Swipe an entry to the side and tap “Gift” to make a decision in the gift coach.
- You also see the next anniversaries on Home in the “Upcoming anniversaries & honors” card.
Add start dates #
For mandate anniversaries, Linknor needs the date on which a role began. If it is missing, the assistant under More › Add start dates helps you.
At the top, you see how many mandates have no start date. Below that, Linknor lists the “Organizations with gaps”.
How it works
- Tap an organization.
- The assistant shows “Step 1 of N” and the first person with their role.
- Choose the start date in the calendar.
- Tap “Save and continue”, or “Skip” if you don't know the date.
- At the end, Linknor reports “All start dates recorded”. Tap “Done”.
Milestone birthdays and birthday correction #
Two settings under More › Settings control how Linknor handles birthdays.
- Milestone birthdays: Under “Default milestones”, you turn “Round decades” and the 18th, 25th, and 75th birthdays on or off. Under “Custom values”, you enter more years separated by commas and tap “Apply”. The “Preview (1–100)” shows all years that count as milestones. This affects Home, the anniversaries list, and the gift coach.
- Birthday correction: Some address book accounts show all birthdays shifted by one day. For the affected account, choose “−1 day” or “+1 day”. The preview shows what the dates will look like afterward.
