Contact profile
The contact profile brings together everything you know about a person: ways to reach them, context profile, communication, roles, occasions, relationships, and encounters. To open it, tap a person in the contact list.
The header #
At the top, you see the photo, the name with the salutation badge (informal or formal), and the company from the address book. The star on the photo sets or removes the favorite. Below the photo is the type of your personal relationship, for example “Business”. If none is set yet, it shows “Relationship +”. Tapping it opens the context profile.
The birthday badge shows the date and age. Shortly before the birthday, it counts down the days. On the day itself, it turns into “Congratulate”.
- “Call” calls the preferred number, via Callnor or the Phone app.
- “Message” opens the composer for SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, or Telegram.
- “Email” opens the Linknor email composer.
- “Address book” shows the contact card from your Apple address book.
Interaction score #
The first card below the header shows the interaction score. The ring shows a value from 0 to 100. Next to it are a short rating such as “Occasional” and a sentence about where things stand with the contact.
The score is an estimate by Linknor, not a judgment of the person. It is for display only and cannot be changed manually.
- Recency (40%): how long ago the last encounter was.
- Frequency (35%): how many encounters there were in the last three months.
- Depth (25%): how much you know about the person, such as notes, roles, tags, and relationships.
Context profile #
The context profile records how you relate to a person. You change some details directly in the card: “Salutation” (informal or formal), “Gender”, “Gift coach”, and “Messenger”. Tapping the selected salutation a second time clears the choice. Linknor uses salutation and gender in templates and birthday greetings. Automatically detected values carry the suffix “(auto)”.
For everything else, tap the pencil. In the “Context profile” sheet, you edit:
- “Personal relationship to me” and the “Relationship type”, such as colleague, family, or neighbor
- the life area
- the source (“How do I know this person?”) and “Known since”
- the relationship strength from 1 to 5
- general and private notes, also by voice memo
- details and preferred topics
- a follow-up, optionally as a recurring date
- a custom interval for the contact break reminder
The cards in the profile #
Below the context profile, more cards follow. Each card has a “+” at the top right for adding items and an arrow for expanding and collapsing. Linknor remembers this state for all profiles on this device.
- Social Media: profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, and other services.
- Communication: emails, messages, and phone calls with this person. Use “+” to write an email or message or to log a phone call.
- Tasks: open tasks for this person, which you can check off directly.
- Documents & content: linked files, notes, and scans.
- Roles & affiliations: roles in organizations with time period and status.
- Personal occasions and Life path: recurring occasions such as a wedding anniversary and one-time events such as a move.
- Relationships, Encounters, and Tags & topics.
Edit contact details #
Name, phone numbers, email addresses, postal address, and birthday come from your Apple address book. That is why you edit them there, directly from within Linknor.
Via “…” › “Open & edit contact”, you open the contact card straight in edit mode. The “Address book” button in the profile header first shows the same card for viewing. There, tap “Edit” to make changes.
- iOS saves changes directly in your address book.
- After you close it, Linknor applies the photo and name to the profile.
- Details from the context profile, such as notes or relationship type, stay in Linknor and do not end up in the address book.
QR code #
Via “…” › “Show QR code”, Linknor shows a QR code with the person’s contact details. It contains a vCard with name, company, email address, and phone number.
The other person scans the code with the Camera app and can then save the contact in their own address book. With “Share QR code”, you pass on the image via the share menu. “Done” closes the view.
Profile as PDF #
Under “…” › “Export PDF profile”, you create a PDF of the profile. You can choose between two versions.
How it works
- Tap “…” › “Export PDF profile”.
- Choose “Compact (1 page)” or “Detailed”.
- Check the PDF in the preview.
- Tap the share icon to save it or pass it on.
- “Compact (1 page)”: contact details, roles & affiliations, encounters, and a QR code on one page.
- “Detailed”: a more extensive PDF with additional details from the profile.
Request a data update directly #
If you are missing details about a person, you can ask them directly. Via “…” › “Request data update”, Linknor creates a PDF with the fields you want filled in. You share the PDF via the share menu, for example by email or messenger.
How it works
- Under “Recipient”, check the name and address.
- Under “Which fields?”, choose a preset such as “Default”. With “Ask only about missing information”, you only ask for missing details.
- Under “Options”, check the sender name. The default is your name from your own address book contact.
- Under “Security”, protect the PDF with a password if needed.
- Tap “Create & share PDF”.
Device linking #
On each device, a Linknor profile is linked to a contact in that device’s address book. The “Device linking” view under “…” shows what this looks like on this device.
Under “On this device” is the linked contact, with a note on whether it was assigned automatically or by you. Below that, “Suggestions” and the links on “Other devices” may follow.
- “Choose another contact” assigns a different address book contact.
- “Remove link …” offers several levels: unlink on this device only, unlink and no longer link automatically, or remove the contact including its data from Linknor.
- Without a link, tap “Assign contact manually”.
Social media profiles #
In the “Social Media” card, you collect a person’s profiles on social networks. When you tap an entry, the matching app or the website opens.
