New to Linknor? Start with First steps
Basics
- First stepsWhen you open Linknor for the first time, it guides you through a short introduction and asks for the permissions it needs. Then you bring your data into the app: from a backup, from your address book, and with your own contact at the center.
- Linknor on iPadOn iPad, Linknor has its own interface with a sidebar and columns. The data and features are the same as on iPhone. This page shows what is different on iPad. In all other chapters, switch the images to “iPad” at the top.
- Linknor on the MacLinknor is also available for the Mac. The data is the same as on iPhone and iPad; layout and controls follow the Mac. This page shows what is different on the Mac. In all other chapters, switch the images to “Mac” at the top.
- HomeThe “Home” tab is your daily overview. It shows what's coming up, whom you should get in touch with, and what has happened recently in your network.
- Help in the appLinknor explains itself in many places: with help bubbles in the views, a help center with guides and a glossary, and an interactive tour. Under “About Linknor”, you find news and ways to get in touch.
People
- ContactsThe “Contacts” tab holds all the people you keep in Linknor. From here, you create contacts, link them to your address book, arrange favorites, and move contacts you no longer need to the archive.
- Contact profileThe contact profile brings together everything you know about a person: ways to reach them, context profile, communication, roles, occasions, relationships, and encounters. To open it, tap a person in the contact list.
- Messages, Emails, and CallsFrom the contact profile, you write emails and messages with the Linknor composer or make calls. Linknor prepares everything and logs the contact. Sending, however, always happens in Mail, Messages, or your messenger, never without your action.
- NetworkThe “Network” tab shows who is connected to whom: through direct relationships, shared organizations, encounters, and topics. From here, you open the network graph, the topic network, and “Maintain relationships”.
Appointments & tasks
- EncountersEncounters record when you met whom: get-togethers, meetings, conversations, or events. Each encounter includes participants, attendance, notes, attachments, and, if you want, a follow-up.
- Conversation prepBefore an event, Linknor shows you what you should know about the participants. Conversation prep lists upcoming encounters; the briefing gathers the conversation prompts for each person.
- TasksTasks record what you want to get done for your contacts and organizations, such as a callback, a follow-up email, or a document. You can link them to people, organizations, and content.
- Birthdays and anniversariesLinknor reminds you of your contacts' birthdays, milestone anniversaries, and personal occasions. You send congratulations with a prepared message and keep track of mandate anniversaries in organizations.
- GiftsThe gift coach asks you in good time before milestone birthdays, mandate anniversaries and personal occasions whether you want to get a gift. This way you plan gifts weeks in advance and keep track of what you have given to whom.
Organizations
- OrganizationsOrganizations bring together the people, roles, meetings, and documents of a party, an association, a company, or a public authority. Here you create organizations, maintain their members, and see what's happening in them.
- Lists & groupsLists bundle contacts and entire organizations for circulars, invitations or recurring relationship care. You find them in the “Contacts” tab in the “Lists” segment.
Content & insights
- InboxIn the Inbox you collect content related to your contacts: emails, notes, web pages, documents and calls. Linknor analyzes it on your device and helps you assign it to people and organizations.
- Statistics and network analysisNetwork statistics show figures, charts and analyses of your network. They detect topics that connect several people, and places where your network is weakly connected.
- Timeline and MapThe activity timeline shows, in order, what has happened in your network. The map view shows contacts, organizations, encounters, and places on a map.
- Advanced search and filtersWith Advanced search, you combine several criteria to find exactly the people or content you need. You save frequently used combinations as filters.
Upkeep & settings
- Data maintenanceData maintenance helps you close gaps in your contact data and clean up duplicate entries. You can fill in details yourself, check specifically where something is missing, or hand the maintenance over to another person.
- LibraryIn the Library you manage everything you assign or insert again and again in Linknor: tags, locations, levels, occasion categories and templates. This is also where you find the Trash.
- SettingsIn Settings, you adapt Linknor to the way you work: appearance, layout of the views, address book, calendar, communication, and reminders. Privacy, backup, and export are described on the “Data & Security” page.
- Data & SecurityHere you learn how to back up your Linknor data, sync it via iCloud, protect it and export it. You find all functions under More › Settings in the sections “Privacy & device”, “Backup” and “Import & export”.
- Linknor PremiumYou can use Linknor without a purchase as long as you keep no more than 10 contacts. Linknor Premium removes this limit.
- Widget, sharing, Siri, and notificationsLinknor also works outside the app: with a widget on the Home Screen, through the Share menu of other apps, with notifications, and together with Callnor and Weeknor.
