Library

In the Library you manage everything you assign or insert again and again in Linknor: tags, locations, levels, occasion categories and templates. This is also where you find the Trash.

The Library at a glance #

You open the Library via More › “Library”. It is organized into groups: “Tags & topics”, “Locations”, “Levels”, “Occasion categories” and “Templates”. Next to each entry you see how many items already exist.

For tags, locations and levels there is a list for managing them and a direct button for creating new ones, such as “Create new tag” or “Create new location”. Under “Templates” you find “Message templates”, “Text snippets” and “Task templates”.

Tags & topics #

Tags organize contacts and content by topic. The “Tags & topics” list shows each tag with its category and how often it is used.

You create a new tag with “+” or “Create new tag”. In the “New tag” sheet, enter a “Name” and optionally a category, and tap “Save”. To delete a tag, swipe it to the left; it goes to the Trash.

Linknor merges duplicate tags automatically. If you pull the list down, the check starts immediately.

Locations and levels #

Under “Locations” you maintain locations with type and city, for example a city, a venue or an office. In the “New location” sheet, enter the “Name” and “City” and choose the “Type”.

“Levels” describe hierarchy levels such as municipal, district or state. Each level has a rank. You create a new level with “Create new level” or “+”.

In both lists, you delete an entry by swiping it to the left; it moves to the Trash. Linknor merges duplicate entries when you pull the list down.

Occasion categories #

Occasion categories determine which kinds of occasions you can record for contacts. There are two kinds: “Personal occasions” recur and remind you, such as a wedding anniversary or godparenthood. “Life path” stands for one-time events without a reminder.

With “New category” you create a category of your own. You set the name, kind, icon and color, and under “Reminder rule” you choose when Linknor reminds you, for example “Yearly”, “Milestone years (5-year)” or “Custom”. You also decide whether a person can have the occasion “One-time” or “Multiple possible”, and whether a label is required.

NoteCategories with the “System” badge cannot be deleted. You can only delete your own categories as long as they are not in use.

Templates and text snippets #

Under “Message templates” (the “Manage templates” page) you find “Default templates” and “Custom templates” for emails and messages. You can duplicate default templates and then adapt them. You create custom templates with “+” and enter a name, category, type (“Email” or “Message”), subject and content.

“Text snippets” are short texts with an abbreviation, for example for greetings, that you insert while writing.

“Task templates” contain default values for recurring tasks: title, notes, priority, repeat and “Due in … days”. You create them with “+” and delete them by swiping.

Trash #

Deleted entries first go to the Trash, which you open via More › “Trash”. There they are grouped by kind, for example encounters, documents, tags & topics, locations or organizations. After 30 days at the latest, Linknor removes them permanently.

Tap an entry and choose “Restore” or “Delete permanently”. You can also swipe to restore. In the “…” menu, choose “Select” for multiple entries or “Empty Trash”.

NoteContacts do not appear in the Trash. They are archived and can be restored or deleted permanently under More › “Archived contacts”.
